considerations in theory specification
I’m into the theoretical part of the research, small changes, improving, reading about intuition, philosophy of change, creative paths…dimensions of creativity??
however…some leading thoughts here…still in formation, still writing,
yeah the mood is very good!!! seeking the path, the thread
as looking somewhere into long horizon, where to go from here, where to seek out a simulation, projection of knowledge, when is all perception…
The use of new information and communication technologies (ICT) such as personal mobile devices, personal computers, satellite cable television and radio broadcasting have changed the pace and rhythm of communication. However individuals and communities still interact and share relationships through traditional media tools like writing, visual images and theatre. These media tools have a much greater impact and relation to each cultural environment. I intend to discuss specific case studies and allow them to reveal systems of interaction between learning experience, and social environment. Thus their complicity with theory will be based upon the findings of these interventions, which are based on activities and processes in formation through do it yourself media education in India. In fact the real challenge of the thesis will be to visualize the theoretical framework for this subject that could establish the fields of scholarship for an in depth research of media education in India.
Trebor Scholz described how technological interaction along with social and economical structures holds a hegemonic position in shaping the everyday life through a variety of social actors. Media practices and interventions through different communication channels becomes the manifestation of active production of culture. Here localized communities can share technology and knowledge with a participatory attitude and active engagement in the creative process of learning and building new structures for participation in social life. In the culture industry One way flow of information becomes a relationship of dominance and control. Hierarchical structures of ownership of mass media have an impact over the content that is produced, the process of agenda making. In learning environments sharing knowledge through tangible media models encourage the formation of spaces and practices for creativity and exploration of daily life specifically in relation with the community environment and peer groups. Creating accessible and inclusive knowledge around neighbourhoods and localities goes against the general mass mediated structures of media production for the market, but opens spaces for new economical and political structures.
